Community-University Planning Grant Program

Community members in meeting.The Community-University Planning Grant Program (spring funding cycle) supports the development of community-university research partnerships related to food, nutrition and health. For University faculty and/or staff and community members seeking to develop relationships, the expected outcome is that participants: develop an authentic, cohesive, equitable and sustainable partnership toward a proposed project that utilizes participatory action research, or other creative strategies for addressing community-identified problems. All Planning Grant award recipients must prepare and submit a grant proposal in the next HFHL funding cycle OR proposals may be prepared and submitted to other equivalent University sources, as well as major government or private sources.

Application Process:

  1. The deadline for submission is 5:00pm, Friday, April 27, 2018. By the deadline, an electronic copy (pdf) of the grant application must be emailed to Candidates will be notified by Friday, May 18, 2018 if they have been invited to participate in a team interview with the review panel.
  2. Team interviews will be held during the week of May 28, 2018 or June 4, 2018.
  3. Awards will be announced by June 13, 2018. Funding will commence July 2, 2018.
