Fall Grant Opportunities

The Healthy Foods, Healthy Lives (HFHL) Institute invites letters of interest and proposals for two fall funding opportunities:



Hmong family on farm.The Community-University Partnership Grant Program seeks to fund innovative community-university partnerships related to food, nutrition, and health. Projects should include participatory action research or other creative strategies for addressing community-identified problems by bringing together academic and community partners. Proposals should produce information that will enable a community to improve its overall health. To that end, funding may be used for traditional research projects or community-based programs that are rigorously evaluated.

Fall 2019 Community-University Grant Program Timeline

• Request for LOIs/proposals released: Wednesday, August 21st, 2019

• LOI due: Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019

• Invitations to submit full proposals: Wednesday, October 9th, 2019

• Full proposal due: Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 (Cover sheet template can be found here)

• Awards announced: Friday, December 20th, 2019

• Funding commences (subject to change*): Monday, January 6th, 2020

• Project end date (subject to change**): Tuesday, January 5th, 2021

• Final report due: Tuesday, February 16th, 2021

Faculty members discussing with each other_version 2The Faculty Planning Grant Program supports the development of University interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research teams related to food, nutrition, and health. Planning Grant award recipients must work towards the preparation and submission of a grant proposal in the spring HFHL funding cycle OR proposals may be prepared and submitted to other equivalent University sources, as well as major government or private sources.
